What should I be doing and when?
Grade 9 – Ask your guidance counselor for a list of your school’s NCAA core courses to make sure you are taking NCAA approved courses. A domestic schools list of NCAA courses can be found here.
Grade 10 – Register with the NCAA Eligibility Center at the beginning of your sophomore year.
Grade 11 – Check with your guidance counselor to make sure you are on track to graduate on time.
- Students should register to take the SAT, ACT or both if they have not already done so. Use the NCAA Eligibility Center code “9999” as a score recipient.
- At the end of the year send your official transcripts to the NCAA Eligibility Center.
Grade 12 – Take the SAT or ACT again, if necessary and make sure to send your scores to the NCAA Eligibility Center using code “9999”.
- Request final amateurism certification after April 1.
- After graduation make sure to ask your counselor to send your final official transcript with proof of graduation to the NCAA Eligibility Center.
